Delegating Effectively to AI
Using AI well begins with deciding whether the task is suitable for it. Participants will learn to define the work, supply appropriate context, set expectations for the result and decide what must remain with a person. They will practise making proportionate delegation decisions in realistic legal work, with attention to confidentiality, supervision and the checking required before an output is used.
Course objectives:
- Assess which parts of a legal or business task AI can appropriately support and which require direct human involvement
- Define the purpose, scope, relevant context and desired result before giving an AI tool instructions
- Set boundaries for sources, sensitive information and the use of approved tools
- Decide what review and verification a task requires, taking account of its impact and uncertainty
- Retain ownership of the work and explain how an AI-assisted result was reached
