From Change to Transformation: People, Performance and Profit
Change can involve improving a process or introducing a new way of working. Transformation goes further, reshaping how a firm operates and delivers value. Both require leaders to manage uncertainty, bring people with them and balance implementation with the demands of running the business.
Drawing on the transformation project undertaken at Arbor Law, this session will explore the practical realities of leading change within a legal business. The case study will provide a starting point for examining the challenges, decisions and lessons that other firms can apply.
The session will explore:
- The difference between transformation and change: understanding the scale and purpose of an initiative, and what this means for leadership, planning and expectations.
- The fear of change: exploring why people may feel uncertain or resistant, and how leaders can build trust, address concerns and encourage participation.
- The impact on business as usual: balancing the work required to deliver change with client service, existing responsibilities and day-to-day operations.
- The impact on the bottom line: considering the costs, potential disruption and anticipated benefits, and how to assess whether change is delivering value.
Delegates will be encouraged to reflect on change within their own firms and how they can support their people, maintain business performance and translate ambition into practical results.
